'No' to Chief Hongisto
I read that Cleveland's new police chief is a liberal and intellectual.
After reading further about Richard Hongisto, I fail to see where he is intellectual by any stretch of the imagination. He is liberal all right, but Cleveland is a city in need of direction and in need of a police force and chief who can respond to all the people's needs.

* As a taxpayer I don't want to be paying for a chief whose primary concern is protecting gay rights or "strolling" into jail with his arms loaded with books because he defied the law...

The appointment of Richard Hongisto as Cleveland's police chiefinitiates a very low era for Cleveland. That he is a champion for ethnic
minorities' rights is commendable, but that he is an activist for homosexual rights is appalling.
Having a police officer ruled in contempt of court and sentenced to jail reflects very poorly on his ability as an officer of the law...
To have as Cleveland's police chief one who showed a belligerent, disre spectful attitude toward the law and courts' rulings makes one wonder where Mayor Kucinich's common sense is.

It is indeed unfortunate that your Mayor Kucinich did not avail himself of San Francisco's package deal. When he acquired Hongisto, for just a little bit more he could also have had our chief of police, district attorney and also the mayor.
We conducted an independent poll, and discovered the latter to be strictly a booby prize. The deal came up so quickly that San Francisco was unable to include its two most popular events, the annual Hookers Ball and the Gay Halloween Celebration

Thanks, Cleveland, to your mayor and all concerned in appointing Richard Hongisto as your chief of police. Lord, are we glad to get rid of him. He's totally unqualified and was merely a figurehead a keeper of his friends: the gays, prostitutes and the revolutionaries..
